We will be throwing at Ottawa Metro at 1:00 on Saturday July 3.
Planning to have regular game the 1st Sat. of every month. Format to be decided Saturday. Ace fund? Skins? Doubles?

Wow! Consider my bubble burst. Let me rephrase the invitation...
All old, married guys (like me), unable to get away for a whole day on a holiday weekend to play in a really great tourney in Michigan...Sneak out to Ottawa Metro on Sat. to play for a couple of hours. I'll be there at 1pm.

how's it going Neil... Not sure what I'm doing Sat... I met you at the Ada tournie (where I continued to suck)... my arms' getting stronger though, or I'm getting better technique 'cause I can throw like 50 holes on the weekends now... working on what they call the x-step technique... minus the griplock... I hate griplock... almost threw a couple of 'em backwards at Hoover last weekend!  Did you say they lengthened some of the holes at Lima since the 1st year? You don't happen to have an updated feet to the pin stats... or are there signs? .......oh and what's skinz  It'd be great if it went to 18 over there... you doing the layout of the back 9.... it'ld be great to see what they can do w/ the course. I was at a course over the weekend.. top secret East of Columbus course near Alexandria... (no parking as of yet).... it's going to be Ohio's answer to the Monster course up in Hudson Mills... one hole the pro tee went 805.... anybody aces that and it'll be a world land distance record I think. Real thick rough on all the holes.... impossible to follow w/o a course map ... which there isn't one yet... but I know the way!  |

I keep hearing the rumor that another 9 hole will be added to OMP, but not from anyone that really matters. Kevin Haver, the parks director, was skeptical to the whole idea. He gave us the go ahead for 9 and said if it gets a lot of use, MAYBE we could expand it to 18. It has been getting more and more use, but I don't believe it is to the level where Kevin will expand it yet. Of course the park district hasn't done alot to promote it. I have been doing what I can, and wish I could do more. Which is why I'm trying to get a semi-regular game going with a good core group.
Skins?...A skin is where you beat everyone in the group on any hole. Let's say everyone throws in a buck in the pot to play. Now let's say you get a 2 on a hole and everybody else gets a 3 (or higher)...You win a skin. If anyone else also throws a 2, there is no skin for that hole. If you are the only one to take a skin, you win the pot. If there are skins on two or more holes then the pot is split between the winners. No skins? the pot carries over to the next game. It is fun, but you really have to make sure everyone is fully aware of the rules before you start...People tend to get pissy when there is a buck or two on the line.

Looks like I'm throwing at Lima...
picking up the nephew... he should be showing up at Ft. Shawnee baby course anytime... might stop back by and check out Ottawa Metro on SR81 @ Lima. If I can sneak it in before the movie's at 9:30...anybody in the neighborhood...
ETA for parks Ft. Shawnee 7:30 Ottawa 8pm or so.

I was a little tough on the Ft. Shawnee course... they have 9 Innova baskets up there, lot's of young trees to challenge your short to mid game. Alternate tee's make the course a total of 18, with some of the holes measuring in upwards of 250 ft., most holes around 200 ft., Maybe get your first ace at this course... great course for newbies... Unless Griplock gets ya and ya anHyzer into somebody's back window... the backyards are sort of close on one side... This course has some chances of being a good course if they could utilize the next plot of ground, there is a grove of more mature trees to "put in play" towards the back of that area & get nine more baskets to extend the play, and average hole length.... The tree's are already maturing some since I've been there last... Any chances of this course expanding Neil? It's maybe not seeing much use... the grass Tee area's aren't showing much wear. Tim B. w/ Findlay parks always said we could move things around and add some vegetation here and there at Riverbend Findlay. Apparently they have a tree mover that they can move larger trees and replant them. There's already enough "rough" at Findlay for sure  |

Hey while your over there at Lima check out... teichertheaters.com/showtimes/eastgate.htm... See a movie for less than $2 bucks. The theater is on 309 behind a grocery store, back of the lot... Near K-mart and Wal-mart. Can't beat that, they make some of $$$ it back in concessions though. ../ T |

Come down to Lima on Saturday and throw a couple of rounds at Ottawa Metro with me. I'll be there at 3 o'clock.
Wouldn't mind defending my tag if I have to. I don't physically have possession of it anyway. I am #11, (I think).

First Saturday (Sept. 4) of the month means Ottawa Metro at 3:00pm.
Last month Jeff Reinhart kicked all asses with a blistering 27...and nearly an ace on #8.
We're going to set up a car pool from the Lima area to the Upper Sandusky event on the 11th.
